A garden is made up of lots of different elements, paths, lawns, seats, sheds etc., most people see plants as just the decorative part of a garden, the icing on the cake.
Have you got a picture in your head of your ideal garden? Is it informal with curvy, billowing shapes, soft colours and scented plants? Or maybe it’s more formal with straight lines, topiary and structure (include scented plants too because every garden needs perfume).
The thing about any good design is that it has to look beautiful as well as being practical to use, I think these photos show that vegetables can look as good as any decorative plants.
