It’s pleasing to find an item for a garden that looks good as well as being practical.
This bench does exactly that, it’s in the Rose Garden at Wisley Garden in Surrey. I like it’s asymmetry and how it’s shape changes when you look at it from different angles.
The big swathe of soft fluffy grasses of Pennisetum alopecuroides planted behind it makes a nice contrast too.
I talked in a recent post about how planting a single type of plant in large numbers can be really effective, and this is a great example.
