Christmas is just around the corner and there’s still lots to do, but this hasn’t stopped me having having a little craft session to make some Christmas decorations.
Pine cones are just the job for this, they look nice and natural, but they need a touch of glitz to stop it looking as if you’ve just dragged the garden inside. The glitz here is provided by copper leaf, the imitation kind because the real stuff is very expensive.
Brushing a thin layer of P.V.A. glue make the copper stick where you want it, then the excess is gently swished off with a soft, fat paint brush after it’s had about half an hour to dry.
It helps to have a damp cloth to hand to stop fingers getting covered in copper too.
Then they’re just strung together with garden string and festooned around, they shine prettily near lights.
