Geum Bell Bank
These are some of my favourites from the exhibits at the R.H.S. Plant and Design Show in Westminster this week.
Geum Totally Tangerine
Geums are useful little plants, they have a rosette of low leaves and flower from spring right through the summer on tall stems giving them a light airy appearance. Plant in moist, soil well drained soil in sun.
Eranthis hyemalis (winter aconite), an early flowering woodland plant, just 15cm high. They always reminds me of a group of choir boys with a ruff collars. They are happiest in well-drained soil in part shade.
The flowers of these delightful little plants come in a range of colours from pale blue to deep violet, and are just15cm high.
Plant the bulbs at twice their depth in autumn, in well drained soil, sun or part-shade. I usually plant some in shallow containers and place them near the house before they flower, they’re also good in window boxes.
